This directory tree holds all projects that are not meant to be an integral part of my home page but show a certain independence.

PBM projects (German language only)

These are some of my more extensive activities in the field of games by (e-)mail (which make up for the main area of my web site) that justify a separate presentation:

• United-Forum - a journal focussing on the soccer simulation pbm game United (published in 1989-1991)
• Thorus - a Gilgamesch game in Discovery mode (performed in 1995-1997)

Internet projects (German/English, depending on your browser's language configuration)

These are my activities in the Internet software area.

My hobby in this field is HTTP in general and compression in particular:

• mod_gzip - a collection of documentations about a 3rd party Apache module for serving web pages in compressed form
• mgzta - my Perl script for statistical evaluation of the saving effects regarding the transfer volume when using mod_gzip
• gzip_cnc - my Perl CGI script for serving web pages in compressed form; this one can be embedded into the Apache server as a 'handler' without changing the Apache program code itself
• MSIE - my Apache XSSI document for automatic identification of the Microsoft Internet Explorer's configuration regarding the use of compressed page contents, including a guide for best possible (on that score) configuration of this browser
